Where your Water Comes From
San Bernardino Valley imports water as a State Water Project contractor and manages groundwater storage within its service area. Formed under the Municipal Water District Act of 1911, the agency has broad authority to provide water services, as well as wastewater and stormwater management, recreation, and fire protection. State Water Project water is received at the Devil Canyon Power Plant Afterbay near California State University San Bernardino and conveyed east to spreading grounds, agricultural users, and wholesale customers in the San Bernardino Basin, and west for direct delivery and groundwater recharge in the Colton-Rialto Basin. San Bernardino Valley does not sell water director to residents.
