1995

Water Rights Application

San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District and Western Municipal Water District file for rights to capture stormwater from the Seven Oaks Dam.

2010

Water Rights Secured

State approval is granted, allowing agencies to increase the volume of stormwater diverted from the Santa Ana River for recharge.

2018

Phase 1-A Construction Begins

Construction launches just downstream of Seven Oaks Dam, including intake improvements, sedimentation basin, and new pipeline sections.

2019

Phase 1-A Completed

Diversion structure, sedimentation basin, and appurtenances enter operation, marking the first active recharge facilities in the project.

2023

Phase 1-B Construction Begins

Expansion of recharge basins and canal improvements within the Wash Plan area begins. This phase more than doubles recharge capacity.
